Teddy Bear Hospital is part of Teddy Bear Studio.
We are a relatively new company operated by daughter and father team Elizabeth and Andrew Moore.
We are passionate about teddy bears and have several very old teddy bears in our personal collection. Elizabeth started making teddy bears when her mum and dad gave her a small teddy bear kit. She enjoyed this so much she started to make teddy bears from other peoples patterns and eventually started to design her own, making them at first for family and friends then selling them online on some well known craft websites.
Elizabeths mum became terminally ill while Elizabeth was studying history at university. Elizabeth graduated and earned a Masters Degree then went on to train to be a teacher but her mums illness got worse and she needed a lot more care so Elizabeth stopped her teacher training to provide this. At the same time Dad Andrew had to take early retirement to provide full time care. Slowly, her Mum improved enough to allow time for other things but not enough for either Elizabeth or Andrew to take on full time jobs. Looking for something to do Andrew suggested doing something with the teddy bears and they started Teddy Bear Studio, both online and at a local craft centre. Making teddy bears by hand is time consuming and the costs often outweigh what cusomers want to pay, but, enquiries came in for teddy bear repairs. We had repaired our own bears so we knew we could do this and so Worcestershire Teddy Bear Hospital started as a part of Teddy Bear Studio. Now, many repairs later we are here offering our services to the whole of Worcestershire and beyond.
Based from our home address in Redditch, a small town just south of Birmingham, we can offer all types of repairs to all types of stuffed animals, not just teddy bears. With Elizabeths detailed knowledge of teddy bear making and Andrews design and engineering background, we can do any repairs including sewing based repairs and mechanical repairs to music boxes and other mechanisms.
All repairs are carried out with meticulous attention to detail preserving the history of every bear. We will never guarantee to make your teddy bear look like new again, no one can really do this, but we will sympathetically repair your old friend to give it a new life so it will live on for many years to come. All repairs are discussed with you so we know what you want and you know what we can (and can't) do. Should you have any special features you want to retain, we will make sure this is honoured (such as that patch mum made years ago, or the button eyes granny added when teddies eyes fell out.
Balding teddy bears cannot have their fur replaced but we can do just about anything else that you need.
Whatever you need for your teddy bear, we guarantee our best attention and expert repairs. You will be kept updated throughout the process and can be sent regular photographs should you wish. All repairs will be recorded and a document provided when your teddy bear is returned for provenance and authenticity of repair.
Contact us today and give your teddy bear the care it deserves. Dont forget to include a telephone number so we can discuss your repair (no hard sell guaranteed) and a description of the repairs needed. Photographs can help for long distance enquiries so please include these in your message: complete front, complete back, details of areas needing work. Also tell us the height and width of the bear. Its approximate age would be useful as well.
